- end item 또는 수행되어질 작업의 end product의 기술적 목적을 명확하게 이해하기 위해 수행

 

- 최소한 3단계로 구성

① Level 1 : entire defense materiel item

② Level 2 : the major elements of the defense materiel item

③ Level 3 : elements subordinate to level 2 major elements

 

- WBS의 element

ㆍ systems engineering and program management

ㆍ training

ㆍ data

ㆍ system test and evaluation

ㆍ peculiar support equipment

ㆍ common support equipment

ㆍ operational and site activation

ㆍ industrial facilities

ㆍ initial spares and repair parts

 

- WBS에 포함되지 않는 element

ㆍ생산되지 않는 element

(design engineering, requirements analysis, test engineering)

ㆍprogram 단계

ㆍrework, retesting, refurbishing

ㆍCost saving efforts such as total quality management initiatives

ㆍstructure of the program office or the contractor　organization

ㆍtreat costs for meetings, travel, computer support, etc.
